Domenico Gerardo (Enico) Iaia is a technical officer specialized in evidence-based political advocacy to improve social justice and equity through investing in health and health-enhancing sectors. At PMNCH he synthesizes evidence to create compelling cases for investing in women’s, children’s and adolescent’s health. His area of focus includes equitable health financing mechanisms, including climate financing.
Prior to joining PMNCH, Enico served as Senior Manager in the women’s cancer space, developing digital knowledge resources to improve advocacy and political efforts in 40 LMICs and supporting four governments as part of the Unitaid-led SUCCESS project on strengthening the scale-up of cervical cancer elimination.
He was also responsible for the MNCH project at the Inter-Parliamentary Union, supporting parliaments from the world over to advance progress on women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health through better legislation and policies, improved oversight and increased budget allocation.
Enico holds an MSc in International Economics from Bocconi University and a specialization in Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
