Ilze Kalnina is the Project Manager at PMNCH. She coordinates global events and engagements as part of the Campaigns and Partner Engagement - Global team. Ilze also manages PMNCH’s accountability efforts, including on streamlined reporting and capacity strengthening to effectively use accountability tools for advocacy.
Ilze is a seasoned expert in policy development and operationalization; project management; and institutional strengthening at national and international levels. She believes that with true will any change is possible and is committed to wellbeing of every child.
Prior to joining PMNCH, Ilze served as a Project Manager for the UN Secretary-General’s Independent Accountability Panel for Every Woman Every Child. Prior to that, for an over a decade Ilze worked for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria where she played an instrumental role in coordinating the review of funding applications and effective functioning of their independent expert group - the Technical Review Panel.
Prior to international roles, Ilze worked for her government in Latvia, where she was the lead legal officer for the development of a new legal and regulatory framework to open the telecommunications market and access the European Union. Ilze also served on the Board of the Directors of the Swedish-Finnish-Latvian joint venture - Latvian Mobile Telephone Ltd.
