Biography

Liliana Carvajal, MA, MSc, works at the Division of Data Analysis Planning and Monitoring at UNICEF-HQ as data focal point for maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health. She is an epidemiologist and global health practitioner with over 15 years of experience.

Liliana currently co-chairs the measurement and metrics technical working group of the Every Woman Every Child group in Latin America and the Caribbean and has contributed to the work of the group on health inequality measurement for over 5 years.

Prior to joining UNICEF, Liliana worked as statistician for UNDP’s Human Development Report. She holds a Masters’ degree in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University (2004) and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2016). She is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Global Health at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden.
