Biography

Lorraine Clifford-Lee is a member of Seanad Éireann since 2016. Lorraine is a passionate supporter of equality for women and girls. Since being elected to public office in 2016, she has worked on many progressive pieces of legislation, most recently pioneering legislation to provide free period products and ending period poverty in Ireland. Lorraine is the Co-Chair of the All Party Oireachtas Interest Group on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and the founder and current Co-Chair of the Cross Party Oireachtas Group on Workplace Equality. Currently Seanad spokesperson on Health, Lorraine previously served as spokesperson on both Justice and Equality, and Children’s Affairs.  Lorraine is the current President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Advisory Group on Health.
