Mariem Galaaoui is a fifth-year medical student from Tunis, Tunisia. Her passion for humanitarian work began at an early age, as she started volunteering with the Tunisian Red Crescent. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in medicine, with a focus on providing aid to those in need. Mariem's interest in global health advocacy led her to join the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) five years ago. Since then, she has served in several positions, including Regional Assistant for the Eastern Mediterranean region and External Affairs Assistant, and currently as the Liaison Officer for Human Rights and Peace Issues. Mariem's involvement with IFMSA has given her the opportunity to connect with other young people from around the world who share her passion for humanitarian work. Through her work with IFMSA, Mariem has developed valuable skills in global health advocacy and diplomacy, and has been able to contribute to different initiatives. She aspires to continue her work in humanitarian relief organizations after graduation, using her medical training to provide assistance to those in need.
