Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1993 and is currently Secretary in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India leading initiatives aimed at improving public health and healthcare delivery. Before assumption of charge of Secretary in MoHFW, Ms. Srivastava was Officer-On-Special Duty in MoHFW, in the rank & pay of Secretary to Government of India.
Prior to joining MoHFW, Ms. Srivastava was Special Secretary in the Office of Prime Minister.
With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in the Indian Administrative Service, Ms. Srivastava has held a range of crucial positions across various levels of governance. Ms Srivastava has served in pivotal roles, including Deputy Commissioner, Director, and Commissioner at the State and Union Territory levels. She has also made significant contributions as Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, and as Additional Secretary and Special Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
In addition to her illustrious professional career, Ms. Srivastava is also a distinguished alumna of St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. She completed both Graduation and Post-Graduation in Physics at this esteemed institution, laying a strong academic foundation that has complemented her public service career. She also has Masters in Public Management Degree from University of Maryland, USA.
