Unitaid launches call for proposals for tools to reduce maternal mortality from postpartum haemorrhage

Post-partum haemorrhage (PPH), which can beprevented with appropriate use of tools, accounts for 20% of all maternalmortality globally[1] and presentsa significant challenge to achieving the SDG targets for reducing maternalmortality.

On 27 January 2021, Unitaid launched a callfor proposals for better tools aimed at accelerating the adoption and scale-upof innovations to reduce maternal mortality from PPH.

Projects that fall under the scope of thiscall are those that accelerate the introduction of new or newly recommendeddrugs for PPH, and also push forward the late-stage development of newformulations for the prevention and treatment of PPH.
