Health Facility Data Analysis: The Key to Improving Local Health Services Monitoring

2 September 2021

Webinar to launch the BMC Health Services Research Supplement
September 2, 2021 – 8:00-9:30 EDT | 12:00-13:30 GMT | 15:00-16:30 EAT

Routine health facility data, the data collected as part of service provision and aggregated monthly, are the backbone of health service monitoring. However, data quality problems have often prevented full use of the data and undermined the credibility of national and subnational statistics.

Countdown to 2030 and APHRC, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and UNICEF, have been working with 10 countries in sub-Saharan to strengthen analysis of health facility data. Results from this effort will be included in supplement to be published in BMC Health Services Research in August 2021. The supplement describes the application of systematic approaches to data quality assessment and adjustment and innovative uses of routine facility data.

The webinar will present highlights from the supplement’s articles and create a forum for discussion of the implications and sharing of related resources. The agenda will include six brief presentations, followed by a panel discussion with experts UNICEF, the Global Financing Facility, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and others.
