This perinatal health observance was created 22 years ago to bring awareness of group B strep to not only pregnant women and new parents, but to the general public to further awareness of the potential harm this type of bacteria can cause babies before, during, and after birth. Since then the month of July has been a focal opportunity for organizations and individuals around the world to tell their stories, share information, and promote healthy outcomes for babies worldwide.
