
This side event led by WHO at the COP27 Health Pavillion will share a summary of the current evidence regarding the impact of different climate change on women's health from a gender perspective and focus on maternal and newborn health. Country representatives will be invited to provide examples of promising health system interventions to protect maternal and newborn health in changing climate conditions. Furthermore, different groups representing mothers and the youth will be contributing their views to this important topic.
The event will also showcase opportunities for promoting women's health as part of the implementation of the COP26 health commitments on climate resilient and low carbon sustainable health systems.
Flavia Bustreo, PMNCH Governance and Ethics Committee Chair, will be moderating the event and Merette Khalil, will be joining as a young leader.
