Tuberculosis Stigma Assessment in Mongolia
Dr Bazra Tsogt will talk about a nationwide Tuberculosis (TB) stigma assessment that involved the use of a validated TB sigma scale and in-depth interviews undertaken in Mongolia in 2022. The aim of the study was to assess the extent and dimensions of TB stigma and to understand stigma as a barrier to accessing care, and to develop recommendations with an action plan to address it. Law and policy assessment was also undertaken with thematic analysis of qualitative transcripts.
Dr Bazra Tsogt is a medical doctor and she worked as a site lead of the STREAM clinical trials of shortening the treatment regimen for MDR TB at the National Center for Communicable Diseases. She is a Research and Innovation Lead at the Mongolian antiTB Coalition and a TB activist.
