Transforming the Agenda on Small Vulnerable Newborns (SVN)

19 September 2023 08:30 – 17:00 EAT
Serena Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya & Virtual

By the Lancet

The Lancet Series on small vulnerable newborns is a five-article collection exploring the pathways to babies being born “too small” or “too early” and the evidence-based interventions that, if fully implemented, would enhance the survival and health of small vulnerable newborns and benefit babies, mothers, and society.

Following the launch of the Lancet SVN series at the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, the Aga Khan University is inviting you to be part of the regional advocacy meeting which will be hybrid (virtual and in-person).

Objectives of the event are:

  • Disseminate the Lancet SVN series findings nationally and regionally.
  • Advocate for prevention of babies being born too soon or too small.
  • Discuss national opportunities and priorities, and catalyze a movement for change
