Birth in a Burning World: Action for Maternal and Newborn Health and Justice

Exposure to extreme heat causes maternal complications, impacts fetal development, and disrupts access to maternal healthcare. This session will advocate for equitable healthcare access for pregnant people, inclusion in decision-making and in climate advocacy, and strategies for managing heat-related health risks. We will also share interventions and tools that integrate heat action within maternal health services.
