The aim of this side event is to facilitate a dialogue with Member States on priorities, challenges and potential solutions for strengthening midwifery care and services and launch a global position paper on midwifery models of care. At the event participants will have the opportunity to understand the guiding principles of midwifery models of care and expected outcomes and to dialogue amongst Member States on priorities, challenges and potential solutions for transitioning to midwifery models of care. 

Speakers include Ministry of Health Officials from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ethiopia, India, Laos, Nigeria, Sweden, the UK and Zambia. 

The dialogue will inform ongoing efforts to develop a Global Midwifery Acceleration Roadmap. Light refreshments will be served.
