By UNFPA, USAID and ICPD30
Thirty years since the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), significant progress has been made in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights. However, critical gaps remain. Today, 44% of women in relationships lack the power to make decisions about their own health care and contraceptive needs. Nearly half of all pregnancies worldwide are unintended, and over 220 million women and girls in developing countries still lack access to modern contraception.
Addressing these challenges requires a renewed focus on empowering individuals, strengthening health systems, and prioritizing sustainable financing. This virtual event will showcase the essential role of country leadership, local organizations, and strong partnerships in driving progress towards universal access to sexual and reproductive health.
We will highlight the transformative impact of collaborative efforts in expanding access to family planning and reproductive health services, while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead.
Join us to explore the crucial importance of rights, women’s empowerment, and sustainable financing in fulfilling the ICPD promise.
