With Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) at the forefront of the discussions, the 2025 ECOSOC Partnership Forum presents a critical opportunity to address Women, Children, and Adolescents’ Health (WCAH). Health and gender equality are interdependent pillars of sustainable development and directly impact progress toward other SDGs.
PMNCH calls for the forum to prioritize the following actions:
- Invest in equitable healthcare systems: In alignment with the WHA77 resolution on reducing maternal, newborn, and child mortality and morbidity, advocate for robust investments in healthcare infrastructure and services for marginalized populations.
- Promote gender equality in health: Strengthen access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), ensuring that women and girls have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
- Foster youth engagement: Leverage youth-led partnerships to address the health and well-being of adolescents, enabling them to contribute to sustainable development.
- Address health inequities in vulnerable settings: Prioritize the needs of refugees, migrants, and those in conflict-affected areas to ensure no one is left behind.
