International Women’s Day: A Call to Action

8 – 7 March 2025

On 8 March 2025, join us to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” This year, we rally for a feminist future where no one is left behind, with young women and adolescent girls as catalysts for lasting change.

This moment is particularly significant, as 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the most progressive blueprint for women’s and girls’ rights. While the Platform has inspired transformative progress—expanding legal protections, essential services, youth engagement, and women’s participation in peacebuilding—new and overlapping crises threaten to erode hard-won gains.

At the same time, PMNCH underscores the importance of the WHA77 resolution on reducing preventable maternal, newborn, and child mortality and morbidity, which is inseparable from advancing gender equality. The health and well-being of women, children, and adolescents are integral to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This resolution is a rallying point for ensuring global action remains focused on reducing inequalities in health and improving outcomes for all.

PMNCH stands firm in its commitment to advance gender equality as central to Women, Children, and Adolescents’ Health (WCAH). Together, we must:

  • Advance women’s and girls’ rights by challenging all forms of violence and discrimination.
  • Promote gender equality by dismantling systemic barriers and amplifying the voices of marginalized women and girls.
  • Foster empowerment by ensuring inclusive access to education, leadership, and decision-making opportunities.

This International Women’s Day, take action: demand investments, share stories, and use the hashtag #ForAllWomenAndGirls to spark global dialogue.

Together, we can build a future where every woman and girl can thrive. Let’s ensure no one is left behind, and let’s continue the fight for better health and equality for all.
