This event was organized under the leadership of the Global Leaders Network (GLN) for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health — a unique, Southern-led platform for global health diplomacy chaired by H.E. President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa — and in support of the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (EWENE) and Child Survival Action (CSA) initiatives.

Co-hosts: South Africa, Nigeria, UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, PMNCH, EWENE and CSA.

Objectives:

  1. Convene a high-level discussion between decision makers from high-burden governments, global health agencies with maternal and child survival mandates, and key donors to accelerate progress to maternal, newborn, and child survival targets.
  2. Review government commitments made at WHA 77, and in EWENE and CSA Country Acceleration Plans.
  3. Heighten awareness of the impact of global funding cuts on maternal, newborn, and child health, garner commitments to increased financing from governments and donors, and, identify new champions for action on maternal, newborn, and child health.
