A Symposium hosted by UNFPA, FIGO, Jhpiego, PMNCH, and Align MNH
Maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) outcomes are deeply dependent on timely, respectful, and coordinated care. Evidence shows that fragmented approaches and a lack of collaboration between professional cadres (midwives, physicians, nurses, pediatricians, and other health providers) can lead to unnecessary challenges, compromised care quality, and preventable adverse outcomes.
Professional associations and global partners have increasingly recognized that interprofessional collaboration is a cornerstone of high-quality, respectful care. Building on the momentum from the recent interprofessional conference in Nairobi (September), this symposium seeks to advance the conversation by providing an evidence-based, practice-oriented platform for dialogue, scenario-based learning, and collective problem-solving.
Objectives
Highlight the importance of interprofessional collaboration in achieving optimal SRMNCAH outcomes.
Explore approaches that professional associations and partners are using to foster effective collaboration.
Engage participants in interactive, scenario-driven exercises to identify communication challenges and co-create practical solutions.
