Navigating Health Misinformation in The Age of AI

8 December 2025 13:30 – 14:30 CET

Misinformation is increasingly undermining access to essential health services, particularly for women, children, and adolescents. False narratives related to contraception, fertility, vaccine safety, and sexuality fuel distrust, reduce service uptake, and reinforce stigma. The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence is accelerating this challenge, although AI also presents opportunities to detect and counter misinformation when used responsibly and governed ethically.

This webinar will bring together parliamentarians, experts, and civil society representatives to examine how misinformation and AI shape access to sexual and reproductive health and rights and other essential services. Participants will explore approaches to strengthen community trust, promote accurate and culturally relevant information, and uphold the right to health and the right to verified information. The discussion will focus on practical strategies for collaboration and on the role of storytelling, empathy, and evidence in countering misinformation. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in French, Spanish, and Arabic.
