As part of our efforts to ensuring that the health and well-being of women, children, and adolescents remain high on the political agenda, particularly in the lead-up to the Summit of the Future, PMNCH has coordinated the development of the following resources to support our collective efforts in our advocacy and influencing efforts, particularly in shaping Member States' positions.

  1. A detailed set of key asks to Member States, underscoring the critical importance of investing in the comprehensive well-being of women, children, and adolescents, and calling on Member States to prioritize these population groups in the Summit of the Future deliberations, aiming to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and beyond 2030. These ask seek to lay the foundations for the post-2030 agenda by calling on all stakeholders to protect these vulnerable groups in all their diversity. This asks are underpinned by principles of equity and equality and call for action to actively promote the multi-dimensional nature of WCA’s well-being through data-driven strengthened political commitment, policies, and domestic resource mobilization and financing.
  2. A brief messaging note jointly developed by PMNCH and UHC2030 urging Member States to prioritize health and well-being for all, particularly for vulnerable populations, to progress action towards universal health coverage, leaving no one behind. The included key messages for Member States’ consideration and calls on their leadership to apply the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and to build equitable and resilient health systems that will address the specific health and well-being needs of women, children and adolescents.

Both resources emphasize the significance of including women, children, adolescents and youth-centered language in the Summit of the Future's outcome document, the Pact of the Future and the supporting annex documents: the Declaration on Future Generations; and the Global Digital Compact. The resources are designed to aid our advocacy and influencing efforts, particularly in shaping Member States' positions.

As PMNCH partners are gearing up to convene in Nairobi for the UN Civil Society Conference this week, we encourage you to employ these key asks and incorporate them into your advocacy efforts to amplify our collective voice, and drive meaningful change for the well-being of women, children, and adolescents.
