The Global Financing Facility Annual Report 2020-2021 released today shows mixed progress across key health indicators in many of the world’s poorest countries as COVID-19 continues to disrupt health systems and essential health services for women, children, and adolescents. At the same time, it shows that country leadership, long-term funding and foundational GFF support have helped to build resilience, highlighting the importance of further investment for continuing on a positive trajectory.
Against this context, this year’s report presents a mixed picture: while some countries were able to maintain and even accelerate gains, others saw progress slow or even reverse. Despite the challenges this year, the GFF Logic Model shows the partnership’s foundational support — together with the COVID-19 response and rollout of the new GFF strategy — is delivering results with progress across the portfolio for nearly all key indicators. The annual report findings speak to the power of the partnership and the collective action in support of our shared agenda. It also acts as an urgent call to continue supporting country leadership in keeping a focus on equity and investing in more and better primary health care.New portal brings together women, child and adolescent health and nutrition, health systems and financing data for the first time – and will help inform decision making, improve transparency and mutual accountability
To advance its country- and data-led approach, GFF is launching a new data portal that brings together for the first time transparent, user-friendly women, children and adolescent health and nutrition, health systems and financing data to help facilitate use of the data for decision making, transparency and mutual accountability. The portal will collate and help track health and nutrition indicators across 36 countries, including interactive subnational data maps and time-trend data.
