PMNCH is pleased to announce a new leadership slate for the NGO constituency, the largest of our 10 constituencies, representing 700+ member organizations.
From 1 January 2022 until December 2024, the constituency will be chaired by María Antonieta Alcalde, Director of Ipas Central America and Mexico, who will also represent the NGO Constituency in the PMNCH Executive Committee and Board. She will be supported by a young, under 30 years old, Vice Chair Erika Dupuis, Country Coordinator of IYAFP Canada and a Secretary, Blessina Kumar, CEO of the Global Coalition of TB Activists. On the Board, the NGO Constituency will be represented by María Antonieta Alcalde, together with Aminu Magashi Garba, the Founder and Coordinator of Africa Health Budget Network. They will be joined in the leadership by five NGO representatives on the PMNCH Standing Committees (Strategic Advocacy Committee, Partner Engagement in Countries Committee, and Governance and Ethics Committee), and Working Groups (Knowledge and Evidence Working Group, and Accountability Working Group) to ensure cross-linkages between all the PMNCH governing structures.
Following a robust nomination process which started in July 2021 and ended on 4 October, shortlisted candidates were then interviewed by the outgoing NGO leadership in November. Here is the list of nominees endorsed by the Governance and Ethics Committee and the Executive Committee.
Congratulations to those who have been selected The PMNCH community looks forward to working closely with you.
The newly endorsed representatives are part of a Governance reform approved by the PMNCH Board in December 2020.
