Background
As part of the upcoming high-level dialogue at WHA78 on "Doing Better With Less: Rethinking the Approach to Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health", we are pleased to invite partners to submit entries for a Poster Showcase that will spotlight cost-effective innovations and promising practices that are improving outcomes for women, children, and adolescents around the world.
This is an opportunity to display evidence-based solutions that demonstrate impact, scalability, and sustainability — and to highlight the voices and actions of communities, youth, and frontline workers.
Themes of Interest
Submissions should align with one or more of the following focus areas:
- Community-based or digital health innovations
- Strengthening primary healthcare and health systems
- Adolescent-responsive services
- Innovations in maternal and newborn care
- Equity-enhancing approaches
- Cross-sector partnerships (e.g. education, nutrition, WASH, gender)
- Youth-led or youth-participatory initiatives
- Resilient responses to crises (e.g. climate, conflict, pandemics)
Submission Criteria & Guidelines
Word Limit and Format
- Abstract length: 500–800 words
- Submit as a Word document or PDF
- Use clear headings for each section (see below)
Each submission must include:
- Title of the Innovation/Practice
- Lead Organization(s) and Country/Region
- Problem Statement (100–150 words) – What health or service gap does this address?
- Innovation or Practice Description (200–300 words) – What was done, by whom, and how? Geographical scope.
- Results and Evidence of Impact (150–250 words) – Include quantitative or qualitative data, outcomes, or evaluation results
- Scalability & Sustainability (100–150 words) – Is it adaptable for other contexts? What resources or policies support it?
- Lessons Learned or Key Insights
- Partner Quotes or Community Voice (optional but encouraged)
Images
- Submit up to 3 high-resolution images (minimum 150 dpi; JPEG or PNG format)
- Images must be free to use, with captions and photographer credit
- At least one image should show the innovation in action or community engagement
- Avoid heavily staged or overly branded photos
Sources and Acknowledgements
- Cite any data sources used (including internal evaluations, surveys, or journal articles)
- Acknowledge all implementing partners or collaborators
Who Can Submit?
We welcome submissions from:
- NGOs and civil society organizations
- Academic and research institutions
- Ministries of Health or government programs
- Youth-led or community-based organizations
- Multilateral or private sector partners
Submissions from low- and middle-income countries, particularly from youth or women-led initiatives, are strongly encouraged.
