Senegal Joins the Global Leaders Network: A New Chapter for Women's, Children's, and Adolescents' Health (WCAH)

The Global Leaders Network (GLN) is proud to welcome Senegal as its newest member, under the leadership of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. This marks a powerful commitment to advancing the health and rights of women, children, and adolescents not only within Senegal but across Africa and the Global South. 

President Faye’s decision to join GLN signals a strong political will for universal health coverage, equitable access to essential services, and bold investment in human capital. As Senegal brings its voice to the GLN platform, it joins a growing coalition of Heads of State championing accountability and accelerated action on preventable deaths and health system strengthening. 

Senegal’s inclusion comes at a pivotal moment as the GLN prepares for key global convenings, including the 78th World Health Assembly and the 2025 AU and G20 summits. The country’s leadership and regional influence will be critical in shaping collective priorities and delivering results for communities most in need. 

Together, we are building a future where every woman, child, and adolescent not only survives — but thrives.
