Management Sciences for Health (MSH), the Global Financing Facility (GFF), and PMNCH, the world’s largest alliance advocating for women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health and well-being, are pleased to announce the recipients of a second round of funding to support coordinated civil society and youth advocacy for ensuring service continuity for women’s, children’s, and adolescent’s health (WCAH) in response to COVID-19.
Through the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Small Grants Mechanism, civil society organizations (CSOs) from Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, and Uganda will ensure that women, children, and adolescents continue to access antenatal care, family planning, safe delivery, vaccinations, and other basic health and nutrition services; ensure that COVID-19 response and recovery plans maintain these essential services and support continued investment; and hold governments accountable for delivering on these commitments.
Grants range from US$30,000-50,000 and are divided into the following funding streams:
- Advocacy and accountability (advocacy and accountability activities that aim to support policies and financing for essential WCAH services and priorities in the context of COVID-19;
- Community engagement (activities which aim to mobilize communities to demand and use services, and monitor service delivery to ensure continuity, quality and responsiveness to community needs);
- Grassroots CSOs (support to youth-led, women-led and/or grassroots organizations to engage in either advocacy, accountability, or community engagement activities to ensure access to and use of essential WCAH and nutrition services).
