Senegal is one of 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa that have collaborated with the PMNCH under the CAAP initiative.
Responding to the need for accelerated progress for women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health (WCAH), the CAAP initiative in Senegal aims to advance women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health (WCAH) issues through coordinated and collaborative multi-sectoral collaborative advocacy and accountability efforts.
These multi-constituency efforts aim to contribute to the achievement of national priorities by accelerating the implementation of existing Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Adolescent Well-Being (AWB) commitments while mobilizing new commitments where needed.
The CAAP initiative in Senegal is coordinated by Amref Health Senegal.
Efforts are underway to jointly develop a CAAP plan to rally their advocacy and accountability efforts of partners around key national priorities. It builds on findings from a scoping and assessment of national commitments and feedback from discussions with organizations working on WCAH issues, including civil society, youth organizations, health care professionals, media representatives and academia among others.
The CAAP initiative aims to strengthen synergies with other initiatives and platforms such as Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere and Child Survival Action. Priorities identified by national partners also complement the high-level political advocacy of the Global Leaders Network for Women’s, Children’s, and Adolescent Health (GLN)
The CAAP initiative’s success depends on the collaborative efforts of partners. We invite you to join our efforts to accelerate progress for women, children, and adolescents in Senegal!
