2014-2019 external evaluation
Overview
In 2019, an external evaluation of PMNCH was commissioned and overseen by PMNCH’s External Evaluation Reference Group, under the, then called, PMNCH Governance and Nominations committee. The evaluation, which covered the period from 2014 through 2019, aimed to provide an independent and analytic review of themes related to PMNCH’s vision and mission; governance and accountability; programming and delivery; partner and country engagement; and effectiveness, performance and impact.
The five-year evaluation was of strategic importance in the context of developing the next Strategic Plan for PMNCH for the period 2021-2025; and as a result, had adopted both a retrospective and forwarding- looking approach. Together with other evaluations and reviews conducted in 2019, the findings and recommendations of the external evaluation guided the development of PMNCH’s 2021-2015 Strategy and the design and implementation of PMNCH Governance Reform initiated in 2020-2021.
