Overview
Improving health outcomes for women and children requires suffi cient funding to implement proven interventions that span the continuum of care from pre-pregnancy to delivery, the postnatal period and childhood. The global economic crisis has led to a slowdown in the growth of international development assistance for health, and prompted increased focus on how low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) can raise public and private resources for health (“more money for health”) and improve value for money of existing resources for health (“more health for the money”). This note focuses on raising more money for RMNCH within LMICs.
