PMNCH 2024 – 2025 Workplan and Budget (Updated Aug 2024)
Overview
This document sets out the PMNCH 2024-25 Workplan and Budget. The workplan was originally developed and approved by the PMNCH Executive Committee in March 2024, as a one-year 2024 workplan, following extensive consultation with PMNCH committees, working groups and constituencies. It has since been updated in July 2024 into a 2024-25 workplan, reflecting recommendations and guidance from the PMNCH Board, emerging from its meeting in Geneva, on 4th and 5th of July 2024. Details of the Board meeting, including the Note for the Record, can be found here.
This two-year workplan contributes to the implementation of PMNCH's 2021 to 2025 Strategy. Its focus is on enabling partners to work together towards achieving the Strategy’s overarching objectives for women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health (WCAH), as they relate to:
- Maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH): To drive down preventable morbidity and mortality, including stillbirths, by advocating vigorously for the inclusion of essential MNCH services in costed country benefits packages and closing the gap on global inequities.
- Adolescent well-being: To advance the health and well-being of adolescents by engaging, aligning and capacitating partners around the Adolescent Well-Being Framework and Agenda for Action.
- Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR): To uphold essential SRHR interventions and ensure continuous progress in financing and equitable access to comprehensive SRHR packages.
This workplan builds on the previous two-year PMNCH 2022-23 workplan and budget, as well as the impressive progress made by partners during this period, as noted in the report to the Board at its meeting in November 2023 and the PMNCH Annual Reports for 2022 and 2023, as available on PMNCH’s webpage. As noted earlier, it now also reflects the guidance provided by the PMNCH Board meeting in July 2024.
