UNHCR urges stronger support for refugee vaccinations in Asia

In this document, UNHCR and the UN refugee agency are calling for immediate support for the COVAX initiative which aims at reaching universal access to COVID-19 vaccines. UNHCR is raising concern in relation to refugees and asylum seekers in the Asia and Pacific region in which a surge in COVID-19 cases have been noticed. The document also addresses the fragile health systems in many countries in the region which pose a risk on the health of the population and specifically refugees which are the most vulnerable.
