This webinar on Models of Childcare Provision in the Global South will explore the diverse ways childcare is provided in resource-limited settings, particularly focusing on quality, accessibility, and affordability. Moderated by Silke Staab from UN Women, the discussion will delve into childcare systems and frameworks, aiming to improve understanding of which models are most effective for different contexts. Speakers will present insights on various models, such as cooperatives, home-based care, and state-supported programs, with a focus on their implementation in the Global South.

During the webinar, we’ll hear about how a recently developed Childcare Systems Map can help to identify leverage points for improving childcare provision in resource-poor settings. We’ll unpack various childcare models in India that have been successfully targeted for vulnerable populations. We’ll also highlight childcare solutions within market environments and explore the balance between market-based approaches and public good models at country and regional levels.

Together, these speakers will provide valuable perspectives on effective, sustainable childcare solutions. We hope you can join us.
