By girls, for girls: What we want to end violence against adolescent girls

7 November 2024 11:00 – 12:00 CET

UNICEF, PMNCH and the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research at WHO, the Pan American Health Organization, the World Bank Group, and Plan International will host a closed-door adolescent-girl-led side event on violence against adolescent girls.

The objective and expected output of this event will be for adolescent girls participating in the conference to develop some priority “asks/key messages” to policymakers to take urgent actions to prevent and respond to the specific forms of violence against girls and needs of adolescent girls.

This will be a participatory event that is supported by the above mentioned agencies to ensure that adolescent girls’ voices and perspectives are meaningfully included in policies and programmes to end violence against children.

The outputs of this event, in whichever form the girls choose, will be presented at a parallel ministerial event on adolescent girls on the 8th of November.  The key messages/asks by adolescent girls will be further disseminated through the respective channels of the organizing group.
