PMNCH is in support of a Lancet Global Health commentary by Health Ministers of Federal Republic of Somalia (Dr. Ali Hajji Aden) and Ethiopia (Dr. Mekdes Daba), underlining the importance of the WHA77 Resolution on Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health. The commentary emphasizes the urgent need to scale up high-impact interventions to combat mortality. It stresses that successful implementation requires political will, unwavering commitment, and consistent investments. Accelerated action is deemed imperative, making this Resolution crucial. The commentary urges all stakeholders to support it. - Six years to the SDG deadline: Six actions to reduce unacceptably high maternal, newborn and child deaths and stillbirths
ENAP-EPMM and CSA, together with PMNCH, has developed a 2-page brief outlining critical actions necessary to accelerate progress for MNCH care. This report features a global modeling toolkit, consolidating the importance of investing in adolescent well-being. Covering economic benefits, human rights, and demographic trends, the report updates and broadens previous investment models to include health, nutrition, education, road traffic injuries, child marriage, and other pertinent areas, while also underlining the consequences of inaction.
Download the 4-page brief - PMNCH Advocacy Brief: Investing in women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health (WCAH) for equitable and sustainable economic and societal progress
Interventions that improve WCAH and well-being and address inequalities have a ripple effect on communities and economies throughout the life course and across generations, yet we continue to see too little progress in women's, children's and adolescents' health. PMNCH developed a new advocacy brief to emphasize the significant economic and societal returns on investments that can change the life trajectory of women, children and adolescents and reduce inequities within communities and societies. The brief draws on the most extensive review of economic and financial evaluations for WCAH interventions, highlighting the high returns on investment in these interventions and their immediate and intergenerational benefits for families and communities.
