Helga Fogstad: SABC-Channel Africa interview on addressing sexual and gender-based violence in humanitarian settings

Leading advocates for women's health are calling for urgent global action to address a 'plague' of sexual and gender-based violence, SGBV being exacerbated by conflict, COVID-19 and climate change. This year, two-hundred-and-seventy-four million people will need humanitarian assistance, and the threat of SGBV is elevated in humanitarian contexts. However, less than one per cent of global humanitarian funding is spent on protection from SGBV.
