The Partner Governments constituency comprises national governments who drive and support PMNCH’s work in reducing preventable maternal, newborn and child mortality, including stillbirths; upholding and protecting sexual and reproductive health and rights; and advancing adolescent health and well-being.
Partner Governments constituency members both influence and benefit from PMNCH’s core function: evidence-informed advocacy. Members’ valuable insights into needs and expectations from a country perspective inform PMNCH’s engagement with partners in other constituencies who are operational at the country level in order to: (i) orchestrate and support national and subnational advocacy efforts; (ii) identify targets for partner-led mobilization; and (iii) support multistakeholder policy platforms to drive and coordinate joint accountability and advocacy efforts for women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health.
By working with national governments, PMNCH supports members in-country to: (i) strengthen synergies with relevant platforms and campaigns; (ii) elevate critical issues for discussion and action; (iii) translate evidence to action; (iv) unlock funding opportunities; and (v) scale proven interventions for women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health.
